a small step

I am supposed to be working on my Odesk tasks today but I didn’t even bother checking my emails.

Thing is…when I decided to quit my job so I could stay home, I wanted to do a lot of things. I wanted to beautify our home, read more books, watch more movies, go out more often, learn how to cook better, learn how to bake better, and learn how to design my own WordPress blog. Wanting to be able to work at home as a freelance web content provider maybe one of the main reasons why I quit my teaching job but it is not the only reason, and that is what I realized this morning.

So I decided to set a day each week to focus on the other things I want to do, and today, I decided to take a step closer to my dream of being able to design my own WordPress blog. If you’ve noticed, ViennaLopez.com has a new theme.

No, I didn’t design the theme. I am still not capable of designing a theme from a scratch. I just tweaked and modified an existing theme to give it my personal touch. But even if I didn’t design the theme, I learned some things about designing. Call me shallow but I am already happy with the fact that while tweaking the theme, I learned some stuff about web designing.

I hope that I can find more time to do some more of this stuff.
